not to lunge colicky horse

hello ma'am, may i know why are you hesitating to lunge a colicky horse? do these horses feel painful when lunged rather than hand walked?

Hi Rohit,

Thank you for your question.  You can liken colic in a horse with a stomach ache in people...so sometimes light movement can help alleviate discomfort but excessive exercise is painful.  Light walking can help a horse with gas colic release gas and movement can increase digestive tract motility and help move an impaction but heavy work will become painful.  I hope that analogy helps understand the approach.
