out of shape mare

hi
im wondering how to get my mare back in shape she has had a colt and hasnt been ridin for a while now there is a 10-15 mile trail ride coming up in two weeks and i was wondering would this be good for her or to much or can i do something in two weeks to get her ready?

Hello,
I wouldn't think of how hard you ride but how long you ride. Take your mare out on a day when you know you have all the time in the world, and just promise yourself that you will stay on for an hour and a half to two hours. Horses who are on the payroll, have to work a 9 to 5, so I am sure your mare can make this trail ride. Just make sure you can put in the time too!
