Question
Hi, I'm sure your very busy.  I hope you can help me.  I have a baby foal and she is 2 months old and a beauty.  I'm not an expert but have always dreamed of doing something with my horses. My babies name is Vision. A Vision of Fire out of Fire Easy from Arcadia, FL and out of My mare A Vision of Destiney.  She is very tall, long legged, nice mucle creases and deffinanition, big rump & a cute little face (head) & smart.  Lots of people are telling me that they have not seen a baby like this latley.  That I shold invest in her and see where she can go.  The problem is I have never done this befor.  I would love to! Please help me and give me any q's that will help.  If you would like to see a picture of her to see if there is even a chance, I'll be glad to send one to you. Thanks so much Tracie Tracular86@aol.com

Answer
HI TRACIE
IF U HAVE A RIDING HORSE OR THE MARE OF THIS FOAL, PUT A HALTER ON HER AND LONG SOFT ROPE, TIE HER UP TO THE HORN AND DRAG HER ALONG ON ALL TRAIL RIDES, UP HILLS AND DOWN.
HOSE HER DOWN WITH COOL WATER UPON RETURNING.  IT USED TO BE TO LUNGE THEM AROUND, THIS MAKES THEM LOP SIDED NOT GOOD FOR THE LEGS, FOLLOWING THEIR HEADS LATER WHEN TRAINING TO RIDE, ETC.
PONYING IS THE BEST AND HOW WE DID OUR BABIES THAT WON MANY FUTURITIES.  SHE  MIGHT FIGHT AT FIRST, BUT CONTINUE MOVING AND SHE WILL FOLLOW THE MOM. DO THIS DAILY AND INCREASE HER PROTEIN TO  PUT INTO MUSCLE ALSO.  DAMPEN HER HAY SO NO HEAVES, DO NOT FEED ALOT OF HAY FOR A BELLY FOR HALTER.
GET A NICE SILVER TRIMMED LEATHER HALTER.  PRACTICE STANDING HER WITH ALL 4 FEET EXACTLY UNDER HER.  KEEP HER NECK PENCIL THIN.  HER EARS ALERT, HAVE SOMEBODY WALK ABOUT HER SO SHE DOES NOT MOVE WHEN THE JUGDE DOES, EVEN HAVE THEM TOUCH HER BACK END, MAKE HER SO USED TO HANDS ALL OVER, PICKING UP THE FEET, ETC.
LOOK ON INTERNET FOR A PHOTO OF A HALTER HORSE STANDING AND THIS IS HOW SHE MUST STAND. U LEAD ON LEFT OF HER, FIRST WALK, THEN A NICE TROT FOR THE JUDGE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.  LOOK AT THE JUDGE WHEN SHE IS POSED, WATCH FOR INSTRUCTIONS AND NEVER BLOCK HIS VIEW MOVE ABOUT AND OUT OF THE WAY, KEEP THE LEAD LOOSE ON HER AND USE THE END TO KEEP HER EARS UP.
IT IS FUN BUT ALOT OF WORK WITH YOUNGSTERS BUT SO WORTH THAT YEAR END AWARD.
