Equitation jumping

What is Equitation? I was reading about it some where, and it sounded fun! What's the differences from Equitation and Show Jumping? How can I get my horse/me ready for our first jumping show?  Thanks!!!

Jumpers is how fast and high you go, with penelties for knocking down rails, stops or time. Hunters are judged on your horse and his way of going. Equitation is judged on your position.
When you go to your first show enter smaller than you are schooling, if you are schoolin 2'9 got 2'6 or 2'3 so that it will be easier. When going to a show have your horse and tack clean,good turnout is respectfult ot the judge. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the show and warm up. there is nothing more stressful then getting to a show five minuets before your clases.
