Question
I have a 2year welsh a maiden mare, she is in foal (bought from dogger)  last 2 weeks her milk ducts have greatly inlarged to a good grown mans hand size, on each side of her belly, she has no bag and has made a nest ready, she has been laying down alot and gotten really nasty.  as do not know when she was served, what would be roughly expectant arrival time of the bundle, research says 4days,2-4 weeks ect rather confusing.

Answer
Natasha,

Thanks for your question. I can not give you a estimate point of pregnancy right off. I can tell you that once the mare is waxing up (yellowish hard drip at the tip of breast) she should start foaling within 24 hours.

Once she starts waxing be sure to start your foaling needs.

Wrap her tail

provide fresh clean stall for birthing and after (do not use saw dust use straw)

remove all buckets and other hanging objects from stall.

Good luck with your foaling experience! Congrats on the new foal!
