Question
I just adopted a male dwarf rabbit today and he is very skidish but is somwhat warming up... so i left him alone and later on i went to put more bedding and food in his cage while he was in there and all of a sudden he started charging at me and the last time i tried to put more food in he charged with his mouth open.... is this anything that will pass and/or to be concerned about? please help me...

Kimberly..

Answer
Dear Kimberly,

Is the bunny neutered?  If not, this is absolutely the first step necessary in calming him down.

His behavior is not aggression so much as cage-defensiveness, and the key here will be to earn his trust.  He may have been in a bad situation before, or just have a nervous personality, but that can be overcome.  Please read:

and find several very good articles on how to stop aggression in a bunny here:

Hope this helps!
