Question
QUESTION: I breed my holland lop (one time only) for the experience of it. She had three babies, they are 15 days old today. One has been fighting an eye infection (in one eye)for four days. It's seems cleared up but the inside of the eye looks white. Is it blind or will that white come off. I've been unsuccessful in trying to wipe it off. Is it permanent.
ANSWER: Hi there

If it is completely white then chances are it is permanently blind.  That doesn't mean it can't have a happy normal life.  Just keep the eye clean and keep an eye on it.  I use either terramyacin or bosch and lomb sterile contact solution with boric acid.

Congrats on your babies.  Hollands are one of the hardest breeds to successfully kindle.

Good luck and if you have anymore questions please let me know.

QUESTION: Just the very center is white, almost looks like a little lump on it.

Answer
Ok well then it could go either way.  It might just have an infection.  You can either keep trying to keep it clean or you can take it to the vet (I would recommend) and see if they can get you some terramyacin to put right in the eye.

As long as the little one isn't sick and is eating and acting like the others I wouldn't get overly concerned but if it is an infection it could easily be cleared up and hopefully prevent further blindness.

I really hope it is ok.
