Question
i recently brought a giant continental doe which lives indoors, she is just over 4 months old, she has no behavioral problems and is very loving to all my family including our dog, but she doesn't like being picked up or put down but loves being cuddled and stroked once heeled, why is this and is there any way i can stop her struggling.? also she has just started to run round my legs in circles, when she does this she makes a very faint constant grunting noise which stops if i bend down to stroke her or pick her up is this normal such as a perrr?

Answer
Hi Victoria!

The faint grunting noise is a behavioural problem!

Most rabbits don't like being held, they are prey animals and are naturally scared of anything bigger than themselves.

The fact that she's such a large rabbit won't help with the struggling when being picked up.

The best thing you can do for her is to get her spayed before she turns territorial when she hits puberty, which it sounds like she's already begginning to do

Hope this helps, let me know how you get on
