Rabbit/guinea pig interbreeding

I have a male guinea pig and a female gray jersey wooley rabbit, they like to play together.  Is it possible for interbreeding between the two?

Dear Rachel,

Although guinea pigs and rabbits often enjoy each otehr's company, they cannot breed.  They are too distantly related.

Still, your female bunny should be spayed because she has a very high risk of uterine cancer.  Please read:
