7 week old Holland Lop

Question
Our seemingly healthy bunny:
We were told by the family who had it, that it would be ready to go on Memorial day weekend. We've had it about 10 days and it is about 7 weeks old. Since then I've heard bunnies taken away this young can have alot of problems.
What things should I look for?
So far we don't see any problems. She(?) eats a good amount of pellets and timothy hay (from Farm & Fleet) and drinks water. At least once a day we let her hop around the yard for exercise and to nibble the yard, she really likes a sandy area. She has small dry droppings and yellow urine. We have not given her any other food or treats yet.
When can we give her fresh veggies?
Her cage is in a shaded screened in porch off our kitchen. She has a wooden box she jumps up on, but usually is on the wire bottom. We have put a couple of "toys" for her to play with.
Is she to young to play?
She gets quite a bit of attention, sometimes comes in the house when being held, (boy can she pee alot when being held). Because of the heat (90), today we moved her to the 75 degree garage in a square movable cage.
The only physical thing I can see wrong is the skin around the eyes seem a bit more red at times. An occasional small bit of matter has been there. Similar to what a human wakes up with. She uses her back foot to scratch occasionally but I don't see any signs of mites or anything like that.
Should I be concerned about any of these things?
She has the loveable part down, just not sure about the healthy part.
Any advice you have to help would be appreciated.
Oh, and we are going camping a couple of weekends, not sure if we should bring her with, have someone come check on her, or take her to someone else's house.

Answer
Dear Leta,

The most common sign of trouble in a very young rabbit is runny stool, and you can read about this here:

Keep a close eye out for that.  It's also much too hot during the summer for her to be outdoors.  She needs to be inside with air conditioning.  Please see:

A garage can get very hot, and it has poor ventilation, not to mention being lonely and depressing.  For information on litterbox training and making her a true member of the family as an indoor bunny, please see:

As for the camping trip:  I would not bring her along.  And because she's so young, it would probably be safest for you to either have a very trustworthy friend take her into his/her home or to have a house-sitter who can be there pretty regularly to make sure she's not showing any signs of trouble.  Heat is a major concern in the summer, and stress can be very dangerous for a bunny of any age, let alone a baby.

For all the best information on the proper care of your new pal, the best sites are:

Hope that helps.
