breeding californian age

I have pedigreed and showable Californian rabbits that I breed and so forth. I have a doe that is intermediate age (6 months). Is it safe to breed her before she is a senior?

Hi Christine,

With the larger breeds it is better to wait until they are senior but if she is already at senior weight she would probably be fine.  If she is not senior weight I would not advise it as this is when most rabbits end up with stuck kits because the babies are to big for them to deliver on their own.
