Barking Bunny

Question
Hi my bunny just barked twice like a dog.  This has never happened before. Any thoughts? Sick, soar throat?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Dear Eleazar,

A bunny cough can sound like a bark.  If this continues, I would get him to an experienced rabbit vet who can listen to his lungs and possibly even take a chest radiograph to make sure he does not have a lower respiratory infection (even pneumonia).  Another reason a rabbit might cough is an irritating molar spur poking at the back of the throat.  Please see:
