Hi Maggie.  my husband and i bought a quaker parrot about 2 months ago and we purchased her a wonderful cage but when she is out on top of it she tries to bite our fingers off if we try to pick her up.  she will give us kisses and let us stroke her back, cheeks, and chest.  in order to pick her up and handle her we have to scare her off the cage with something and after that we don't have a problem with her.  we are constantly talking to her and singing to her not to mention petting her.  we work with her daily but she is just so rotten we don't know what to do.
