Question
We found a baby field mouse as it looks...Dark brown, maybe 5 to 7 days old. Eyes are closed, and feeding the little critter, Lactated Ringers solution and Evaporated milk...we feed every 2 to 3 hours, day and night...Our Vet has donated all the supplies...My ? is I can see the white food in belly how much to feed? We massage, and rub it's genitals, but seems to go on it's own.  They are mustard color...We have a cat, so I guess a cage is the next step...My Husband found the little thing on Pavement, outside of a busy store with the sun so hot...Thank you for your site...

Answer
Dear Cathy,

Feed the little thing until it won't eat any more.  Mom fed it every half hour, so it's used to eating a lot.  It's tummy could use a tiny rub too.  Yes, please keep it away from the cat!!

What a nice vet you have : )

I have had a number of questions on  wild babies, so if you click on my "View Past Answers" from the main mouse page and read the titles, some will definitely apply to your situation.  Of course ask any other questions you have.

Have fun!
