Question
My iguania died it had mites at one point. Can the tank be reused???

Answer
Hi Mackenzie,
Sorry to hear your iguana died.  Yes, the tank can be reused but it is important to disinfect it well with a bleach/water solution which will take care of any bacteria, virus that may be present in the tank and items in the tank. Any and all items in the tank also need treated. I would use REPTILE RELIEF made by the company called  NATURAL CHEMISTRY to treat.Reptile mites live on reptiles so if there are other reptiles in your home now, they most likely have mites.   I do want to point out that a tank is not the proper cage for an iguana.  Even a 75 gallon tank will last a properly cared for iguana less than a year.  They grow fast and they also need room to climb.  Please see some of my old replies to read more on proper housing, and vital care information on iguanas.
