Question
I got a hermit crab a month ago and don't no a lot about molting. I am always trying to learn more. She is always bured in the sand and is Not active most of the time. She mainly sleeps. I usually pick her up and bother her everyday hoping to get her more active untill i learned that she might be trying to start molting. So can you help me out please.

Answer
Since she's fairly new to your home, it is suggest that you leave them alone for a month or so to destress. They can molt during this time. Destressing or molting is hard on a new crab so I'd recommend only going into the tank to give food and water.

Make sure to offer proteins, honey and calium to her, it will be beneficial to her if she is going to molt.
