Question
ok.. I have 2 females one that is about 9 months old(Sobe) and one that is 2 1/2 months old (Jo-Jo). Sobe has always had cage rattling problems... no matter what I've tried.. I was certain she would stop when she had a friend to play with. She hasnt stopped and it rattles the nerves badly... she is out of her cage for 2-3 hours at a time and has plenty of toys in her cage and her new baby "sister" to play with! Is there ANYTHING that will make her stop? Jo-Jo on the other hand has no problem spending time in her cage but she eats everything in it! she has turned their blanket into swiss cheese and I have had to take several of their toys out cause she was eating them! She doesnt seem to be eating much of her actual food but i cant tell with 2 of them in the cage eating from the same dish... she seems aweful skinny to me.... but she is VERy small in general! any advice for me?

Answer
My first advise is to do a ton of research on how to enrich a ferret.  You can but Ferrets magazine or Ferrets for Dummies or search online for Bob Church.  Both issues are boredom related.  Eating blankets can be dangerous due to impactions and cage rattling can severly damage teeth.  In order to help them both you need to find a ton of way to enrich them both.  Ferrets need more than toys and a playmate - they need games, interaction with you, lots of time out of their cage and a host of other things to keep them mentally stimulated.
Good luck
