My ferrets wont open their eyes!

Question
Hello. My ferrets are over 5 weeks old now and only one baby out of 9 has its eyes open and even he only opened one of his eyes. Nothing is happening now and I'm starting to worry about them. They have already started weaning and eat as much ferret food as they want. So i would like to know when they will open their eyes and is this normal that they wean before they open there eyes.

Answer
It is not normal that their eyes are not open at 5 weeks old. Kits usually open their eyes at 30-38 days. I strongly suggest getting them to a vet as soon as possible if their eyes do not open within the next day or two. They could just be developing slower or it could be something more serious.
