Dog pottying inside

Jeff:

I have a six month old Westie.  I got him from a breeder when he was six weeks old.  He is a wonderful dog, except he is stubborn.  My wife and I have been trying to crate train him for several months.  We will take him outside and play with him, put him outside by himself, and done everything in the middle of these extremes to get him to go potty outside.   He can be outside for 45 minutes, and as soon as he comes inside, he will potty inside.

Can you please give some advice about how to correct this situation?
