peeing inside

my girlfriend has a 7-8 month old dachshund puppy named harry and no matter what we've tried...he still pees inside when he is excited or scared...what can we do to prevent this if anything?

Hello James,  The pup has what they call submissive peeing and the best way to deal with it is to completely ignore it.  If he gets a reaction when he does this he will continue.  Don't get mad, don't scream, don't baby him.  Just clean it up like it is no big deal.  Dogs generally grow out of this.    For more information on submissive peeing just do a google search for "submissive urination".   You can also see a good article on www.paw-rescue.org  Under Robins pet tips.
