training my dog to...

I want to train my 6 month old female Pomeranian poodle hybrid to go to the bathroom on command when we are outside and I would like some tips on how to do this.  I read your site, but would like further instructions.

You just have to be consistent, Adrienne. Every time you take your dog out (on a leash), you have to begin saying whatever command you want to use as soon as s/he starts to do his/her business. Repeat the command over and over as s/he is going to the bathroom, and when s/he is finished, praise him/her, saying "Good [command], good boy/girl!"

If you do this each and every time you take the dog out, it shouldn't take long for him/her to start to put 2 and 2 together.
