QuestionI have a golden retriever and basset hound mix and she never wants to play with toys or balls....she is 4yrs old but I have only had her for 6 months. Many weekends she hangs out with my parents 4 dogs who like to play but she is never interested. Can you give me any advice?
AnswerSome dogs never learned to play as youngsters, and others have no particular interest in playing once they reach adulthood. You may want her to play, but it isn't necessarily abnormal that she doesn't want to.
One thing you can try is to provide her with an interactive toy, such as a Buster Cube. Many dogs have fun with those, because they get to manipulate the cube to get some food treats out.
