rough play or agressive behavior

Question
I recently brought to our house a lab mix puppy, and already own a soon to be 2 yr-old G.S. mixed with S.H.  Both dogs have been playing rough for the last several months (I believe is rough play since they haven't hurt each other), growling at each while rolling over each other, chasing each other, showing their teeth and the lab yaps at the big dog and seems like is going to bite him but doesn't hurt him...is this ok? Should I let them keep behaving like towards each other? Another things is that in the same manner the lab behaves towards me, and my children which concerns me the most, I tell the lab "NO" in a firm voice but it just seems to trigger his "bad" behavior more and jumps on me (or the kids), bitting (although not too hard) and bitting on the ankles, etc...I want to learn how to correct this behavior. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Answer
Sandra;
You will have to get into an "Obedience" class with your dogs, as you will be endangering you and your family like this otherwise.
You are wise to catch it now!
There are many options, like a "Petsmart" or a class in your local Park, or shelter.
These are going to be the valuable trained people to help you with each step of the "Obedience" requirements to help your dogs understand what you are asking of them.
"REMEMBER....NO MEANS NO INFORMATION"...GIVE YOUR DOG A COMMAND LIKE : Off, or Stop. Something quick and easy for you to use time and time again.
They need to understand with the tone of your voice and body mannerisms that is not acceptable.
Also, you will need to give them a "Time out" like kids, to the crate, or Run separate they must go!!!
My new book comes out next week or so...keep your eyes out for the Link on my Profile page where you can obtain it, this will help you I believe as well.
Let me know how you do with some of your classes!!!
Best wishes,
Melissa
