Top Coat Shedding

Question
Our family German Shephard was shedding terribly while our children were on vacation.  She was visibly upset the way she was shedding.  Children came home and the shedding stopped.   The flees have been aweful here and we gave her a flee bath two days ago. Now her top coat is just coming out, badly.  Since I was little, my father's shephards never did this that I can remember.  Could our Shephard be alergic to the shampoo we used?  What could be wrong?

Answer
It would be possible.  Baths are not the best way to control fleas now.  Get her on one of the modern products, Advantage, Program, Sentinel, Revolution, etc.  Then treat her and the house with a flea spray.  If she travels much, the car too.  Treat the yard with a product meant for yards.  Once you have a fleas infestation, it is hard to get rid of.  Once you wipe them and all their eggs out, than the flea remedy will keep her in good shape.
