Question
my female shepard was taken to a breeder to be breed where she was muzzled and put in a kennel with the male ever since she has become agressive with other dogs shes friendly around people except when she at the vets or groomers she shows her teeth and snaps

Answer
Hi Michelle,  You have a problem.  that is about the worse thing anyone could do to a dog.  A female controls when she is bred by letting the male know when he can or can not breed.  This is by growling & biting at him when he tries to mount her and she is not ready.  By muzzling her, she was not able to defend herself from the male as easily, so she will definitely never trust another dog again.  When a female is in heat, she imprints a lot of what happens to her, which happened in this case.  As far as aggression towards the vet & groomer, when she tied with the male (when being bred), she probably freaked out as she really wasn't ready to be bred, so they had to hold her so now she isn't trusting anyone to actually hold her (like a vet or groomer would do).  In the industry it is called forced breeding.  It really amounts to nothing more than rape for the female as there is not a lot she can do.   I feel sorry for your female, and I would definitely never use that breeder again.  If your dog was having a problem breeding, they could have just taken her to the vet and had her artificially inseminated.  That wouldn't have hurt her at all, nor his male.  Hope this helps,

Dawn
