Question
I HAVE A GERMAN SHEPHERD SHE IS 7M OLD AND I THINK JUST GOT HER PERIOD ,HOW OLD DOES SHE HAVE TO BE TO GET IT

Answer
It varies, 7 months is on the young side; but if her vulva is swollen and has a bloody discharge, likely she is starting her seasonal reproductive cycle commonly known as coming into heat.  You made a big mistake not getting her spayed by 6 months and avoiding the risks and hassles of her cycle.

What you must do now is watch her very carefully the next few weeks.  As she progresses into her fertile time, she will do anything to get loose and go find a male.  Once loose, as bad as an accidental breeding and another unneeded litter of puppies is, far worse can happen.  Unsupervised breeding can lead to injuries and infections, sometimes fatal.  She can also dash across a road heedless of traffic and be killed.  Count on males coming for miles and not letting a 6 foot fence stop them from getting to her.  If you have no place to hold her, you might even see if a kennel would take her until she is finished.

Once she is back to normal, get her spayed as soon as the vet will do it.  Otherwise you will going through the same hassle again every 6 months.  Getting her spayed now, will reduce her chances of cancer later in life.

I am very concerned about what else you are neglecting if you haven't even learned the common terms for dogs.  Is she up to date on shots?  All the states require a rabies shot by 7 months.  Didn't the vet mention spaying her?  Is she on heartworm remedy?  There is far more to know about dogs than I can cover here. You really need to do some reading.  You could start at http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/articles.html  Some books would be good too:
