red eyes

Question
My collie is 7 years old. She is a great dog, purebred. Her eyes have become really red, and they have a nasty green puss that comes out, sometimes it drys and covers her eyes, and sometimes it is just a nasty film that covers her eyes. We have tried eye drops, and benadryl. Nothing seems to work. Any other suggestions?????

Hello Dana,

I suggest you take your collie to a vet.  It sounds like she has an infection.  She may have plugged tear ducts that have gotten infected, or it could something more serious.  I am not a vet, so I cannot give you a diagnosis.
