Question
do you have to clean out cockerspaniel dogs ears, by pulling out the hair or clipping it

Answer
I am a big believer in leaving well enough alone if you can.  If the dog is having ear infections or other trouble with its ears, then regular ear cleaning is a good idea.  Clip, don't pull the hair inside.  You can buy ear cleaning solution over the counter or from you vet, but some people just use water with a little vinegar in it.  Get the worst off with cottenballs and finish up with q-tips.

I seldom bathe dogs either, but if you do, be very careful not to get water in them.  My vet says bathing is the main cause of ear infections.  Brushing is more pleasant for man and beast.
