behavior problems

I have my 7 month old cocker and he has always been agressive toward my children,specially my 8 yr. old son. He is a really good dog, he follows commands as sit, stay go, but when my son gets near me he just tries to attack him by jumping on him and aiming on his  face, we are at the point that my son cannot be with him alone at any time and we also put baby gates to avoid him going at the places where my son is. My husband wants to let him go but I can't let go  I love him very much but I just dont know what to do. please I need your advise

Has he ever actually bitten..tried to bite..Is he growling/snarling when he does this?  Or is he barking?

What do you do when this happens?  How is he on walks?  With strangers? With other dogs? Have you consulted a trainer?

You say he's aggressive with the other children...exactly how?
And where does he sleep?  Who walks him?  How old are the other children?  And who feeds him?
