Painful Yelping...

Question
Four days ago, my 5 1/2lb, 3 1/2 year old, female chihuahua started this yelping sound every time i would pick her up.

She seem very sore in the upper and lower chest area. Also, whenever I would touch her chest/abdominal area roughly or even to pick her up she yelps painfully. I wonder... what in the world is wrong with her? I've also noticed a change in her hyper and sometime cute/naggy behavior. Now, all she does is remain very stationary on the couch... avoiding any movement. Because of her playful personality, in spite of her pain, she would jump down from the couch to play with her toys and to get a bit of attention but shortly after, she would sit back on the couch. Her condition seem to remain the same for the past four days the chest/adominal pain and her sloth-like behavior. Tonight she slowly rolled on her back because she wanted me to rub her belly (she loves belly rubs) I did not rub her belly because of her pain. Upon looking at her exposed abdominal area, I couldn't help but to notice a medium sized swelling/lump under her skin on her ribcage. I touched it and it felt kind of hard and he stared yelping again. : (

Anyways I've already scheduled an appointment with her vet for Friday (because of lack of funds) Everyday with her feeling this way, seems like a lifetime. I hate not seeing my cookie princess as her old hyper-active self.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks In Advance.

Answer
I'm sorry your baby is in pain, the best thing is to see a vet, sometimes dogs develop cysts. I can't really say more than that but just try to keep her as comfortable as possible until tomorrow. I hope it is nothing serious and whatever it is can be taken care of.
