Biting & Chewing,

Question
I desperately need help, I love my Bailey dearly, but I am getting to the end of my rope, I am so afraid that he will never stop the chewing and biting, Sometimes I think that why did I get him, but then I look at him and see how much that I love him. Please HELP. He his 3 months old.

Dear Nancy,

I get calls continually from puppy owners who basically want to kill their dogs because of the biting!  You are not alone.  It will pass, but you do need to take this playbiting opportunity to teach him what's ok and what's not.  Please go to my Mouthing page at http://www.dogdaysusa.com/mouthtraining.cfm and follow all of the instructions carefully, keep the faith and know that this will be over in another 1-2 months.  Your puppy is normal, and you are a good dog owner; only good dog owners have to go through this (bad dog owners just put the dog outside, hit them, or send them away).  You need to modify his normal puppy playbiting and chewing behavior so that he can fit into your human habitat.  I promise, this too shall pass!
