Question
hello i have a 5 month old golden retrriever.who loves to play and run around the back yard with a family member or by her self. when it comes time to try to take her for a walk around the neighborhood ,i can't get her to walk down the driveway. she loves the car she plays well with my sons dog. she knows how to sit stay down, and come.she will take a walk in the town park only because she can't hear the noise of cars.i don't want to drag or force her for a walk .please help thank you mark.

Answer
Good for you for not wanting to force or drag her!!!  One thing you can try is to lure her with some really good tiny treats (liverwurst, turkey, Plato salmon treats, or something she really likes that is better than biscuits).  At her age, she may be having a slight fear issue that will resolve with age, so your job is simply to help her get over the hump and sometimes tasty tidbits can help.  Another thing to try is to sit with her where she can hear the car noises, but not close up.  Feed her as the cars go by, but stop feeding once the cars are gone.  In other words, try to make the cars a predictor of good things that happen for her.
