New puppy home adjustment!

I'm getting a 5 month old Chihuahua and I was wondering if you could tell me, approximately how long it takes for a puppy that age, to adjust to a new home? Is it harder if the puppy is this age? What can I do, to make his adjustment the least traumatic and stressful for him? Thanks in advance!

Yes it will be little harder, also in mind that he may have picked u so habits you dont like. Just remember to start ot as you mean to continue, ie if you dont want him sleeping in your bedroom, then the first night have him sleep where you want him to, dont give in, or he will always be in your room. Let him explore and sniff around, dont have guests or noisy children in for the first week or so. Keep stress to a minimun. Make sure he knows where his food and water will be, and if you want himn to bond with you quicker, then put one of your used sweaters or something you have worn in his bed with him, he will associate our smell with nice things.
