Cat Moods

Question
My question is in regards to my 6 year old, long-haired female cat. Sometimes I can tell that she's in a good mood but there are occasions when I look at her and she looks back and she seems so sad it tears my heart. Do cats have moods and what can I do for her?

She's not real fond of being picked up and cuddled so that's not really an option for her, what can I do?

Answer
Roberta,

Cats have more expressions than they have 'moods'. She may be lonely or bored too. Cats need stimulation. Have you tried getting an aquarium for her to watch? Or a cage with some pet mice? I have some cat videos for mine to watch on TV that they love. Here is a link for them: http://petsittervideos.com/index.html

When she looks like that get out a pet laser light. You can get them at PetSmart, Petco, etc. Even our 98 cent store has them. Cat love to chase the little red 'bug' on the walls, floors, and ceilings. That should perk her up!
