nursing cat swollen tits

Mom gave birth to 5 kittens 23 days ago.  Every one, mom and the babies, are healthy and happy.  Our problem is mom's two tits by her hind legs are swollen, the part the babies latch on to is flat and I dont belive the babies suck on those two.  I first noticed it two days ago on one tit and now it involves the both of them.  They do not seem tender,  red or painful.  I wonder if you have seen this before? I appreciate your sharing your knowledge with me.

When babies are born, they find the nipple they like best and go to it nearly every time they nurse.  The two back ones never got claimed and therefore are full and swollen.  In time they will go down.  The flat ones still have milk or your babies wouldn't be thriving.  It's ok, just watch the mama cat and if in another few weeks they seem hard and painful, then take her into the vet for a check up.  It should be ok though.  Please write again and let me know if there are problems with her, or if you have any other questions.  I am alwas happy to help.  Hugs, Barb
