Question
This is a weird question, but about 5 years ago My cat Goldie died. She was the best cat you will ever meet, she was sssooo smart, she was cute and loving, But she got to old, we had to put her to sleep, she was 17 in cat years! ( and her insides were bleeding ) that was the saddest day of my life. She was the only real friend i had. Well, after that we got 3 new cats, which we are very happy with, but just a few weeks ago, i thought i saw goldie! am i going crazy? Let me explain: it was night, i was trying to sleep, but i couldnt, i started looking at some photo albums, when i saw Goldies picture, i havent thought about her in months, i thought to myself, i started crying, i missed her so much.  I went back to bed with tears, i closed the light and tried to sleep, but all i thought about was Goldie. Then in the hallway, i saw someting, i wiped the tears from my face and i saw a cat figure, it wasent one of my 3 new ones, they were to small, but it looked exactly like Goldie! bi didnt know what to do, i started crying her name, Goldie, Goldie, Goldie,....., the cat figure just sat there, i wanted to go up to her, but i was to freaked out.  I wiped my eyes for a second, then looked up, the cat figure was gone! I no i wasent dreaming, and i also  no it wasent one of my 3 cats.
What happened? What should i do?

Answer
Dee,

I remember my first cat Clea who died shortly after weaning her first litter of kittens.  Every once in a while, I would wake up and see her sleeping next to my pillow like she used to.  After a couple of seconds, she was gone.  Your seeing Goldie like you have reminds me of seeing Clea every so often.  Clea was the cat with which I had the strongest bond ever!!!!!

When you have seen Goldie's apparition, have any of your other 3 cats reacted?

To answer your question honestly, I cannot tell you if it were wishful thinking or truly an apparition (or ghost?).  I have no idea what such a portent could mean.  For me, I would consider myself lucky to have seen Goldie and, over time, any such appearences should lessen (one would think).

As Hamlet said to Horatio (I paraphrase), there are things that your philosophy cannot explain.

Best regards... Norm.
