QuestionRecently my cat Splash" is going through some changes.
Weight loss-but loves to eat!
Loss of fur and very dry, now there is dandruff.
She is very lame due to arthritis, she is given a baby aspirin Sun and Wed.
Stays in a room upstairs most of the time.
Still likes to come for a visit when we go to bed and sometimes will stay the nite(she jumps onto the bed)
I love her so much just very concerned about the hair loss and dry skin. Old age?
AnswerJust like humans, cats over age 7 are more likely to get diseases as they age. Your description means that she could have anything from tapeworm to kidney disease. (in other words, without a visit to the vet, you don't know whether it is something simple or more serious)
If it were my cat, I would take her to the vet *immediately*
for a full checkup and blood work.
(as a checkpoint, cats around 15 yrs of age are relatively equivalent to a human who is about 80 yrs old)
Thanks for the question.
