Question
My kitten is a seal point and about 6 months old. He is always sneezing and has a runny nose. No other symptoms of a cold though. What to do?

Answer
Take him to the vet.  Chronic sneezing and nasal discharge can be a sign of many different things including feline leukemia, herpes virus, or even a foreign body in the nasal cavity.  If he hasn't been already I would have your vet test for leukemia and FIV.  If he does have the herpes virus then he will never be rid of it but you can help control his outbreaks.  Supplements such as L-Lysine can be given daily.  Lysine is an enzyme used to make proteins, and it inhibits the rate at which the herpes virus replicates.  If you have other cats in the house I would definitely keep them separate until you can find out exactly what is going on with him.  I hope he gets better.
