Question
I have grown up with Siamese cats and love them like a child.  I have a 2 yr old and a brother-sister team at a year old.  The 2 year old shreds occasionally but not much, however the sister-brother team have a habit of shredding toilet paper hanging in the bathroom.  We have to explain to guests that the tp upstairs is under the vanity and downstairs it is on the shelf above the toilet.  They figured out we hid the tp and we woke up to shredded paper towel in the kitchen.  The paper towel has stopped but how do we stop them from shredding full rolls of freshly opened tp?  PS:  Siamese cats are the best medicine for single people and empty nesters.  Our life is never boring now.

Answer
I agree with you that Siamese make wonderful children!  I am single and childless myself.  My life would be sad and boring without them.

Honestly, the rule in my house is, the cats can go everywhere BUT the bathroom.  They just found too much to get into in there, including shredding the toilet paper, dragging Q-tips out of the trash, knocking over jewelry boxes, pulling towels off the racks, tearing the shower curtain liner, etc.

They do make covered toilet paper holders.  It has a cover that lifts and rolls back (sort of like a garage door), but they need to be installed into the wall, not just screwed into it.  You should be able to find them at home improvement stores or bed and bath stores if that's something you're interested in.  I had one in an apartment I lived in, and it was wonderful for just this reason.
