sick cat :(

hi Karen,
My cat 3 yr old has been puking all morning. The only thing I can think of is that he may of ate one of his toys (he likes to chew them up), or maybe a piece of popcorn. Right now he is just laying in the corner and will get up only if he needs to puke. Usually he is extremely playful. Since it is sunday I can not find a vet open near me to call.
I have tried giving him water but he will not drink..
Basically I am just wondering if there is anything else I can do right now (I plan to take him to the vet if he is not better by tomorrow morning). He tends to chew all his toys into small pieces and I am confused on what toys would be safe for him to have. I have had him three years and this has never happened and I'm worried about him:(

Hi Michele,

I am sorry that your cat is sick. Let him get rid of whatever he ingested. Get him to the vet tomorrow. He shouldn't get anything to stop him vomiting until you know what is causing it. You can try to give him a little Karo syrup with water,(or better yet, Pedialyte),in it. He might drink that. Just make sure he is warm and get him to the vets. Good luck.
