why should I neuter my cat?

16:06:38

Question
My cat is a year old and he is perfect. He is very affectionate and loves to play with my 10 yr old son. He never wants to leave the house. When I first got him, he did did pee a couple of times, but he hasn't anymore in the past 3 months. I have had him for 4 months. My question is, Is it necessary that I have him neutered? Would having him neutered affect his behavior? He is a wonderful cat and I would hate to see him change.

Thank You for your help.

Answer
Jennifer,

Normally, neutering a cat does not affect their behavior, per se, just make them a bit gentler and less aggressive.  If he starts peeing again, neutering will not be an option.

One can never guarantee that neutering will not affect his behavior, but, usually, it changes it for the better.

Best regards... Norm.
