if there are several cats in the house how many cats per litterbox ?

The rule of thumb is one litter box to for every 2 cats. But it depends on how much time and effort you are going to put into taking care of the boxes. I have 5 boxes for 13 cats but they are changed every day and are scooped in between the changes. My house does not smell out of cat because I take extra care of the boxes. If you do not plan to clean them everyday then I would have one box for every cat. Good luck.
