Question
I have this kitten that we rescued, she is not wild, she come right up to us when she wants, but, if we pet her or pick her up or move she has a freak out. ji have been working with her and i have got her to the point that i can hold her for a little bit and put her down before she gets fussy. anyway, this morning i was holding her, and none of the typical aggitated signs, but she just reached around and clawed my face. this is not the first time that i have had this problem with her. i just want her to quit biting and clawing us, if i can't get her to do that then she has got to go, i can't deal with it. we have had her for two months and she hasn't changed much. I did rescue 4 WILD kittens and there mother, mom went back out, couldn't touch her, but the kittens came around, i have to of them, they would NEVER use their claws to mean us harm, they are the best cats ever, what am i doing wrong with the mean tame one? PLEASE help????

Answer
Your kitten is not being mean and it would be very unfair to rehome her just because she does not like being picked up.  You have said that she comes to you for attention when she wants it, so why try to force attention on her when she doesn't want it?  The fact that she will let you touch her at all sounds as though you have already achieved a great deal in taming her, but all cats are different and many of them don't like being picked up.  Let her come to you for attention and don't force affection on her when she doesn't want it.  She is not attacking you randomly so there is no need to be frightened of her, just respect her wish not to be picked up when she isn't in the mood.

Best of luck with this.
Take care
