Question
QUESTION: Hi Again!
I live in Gilbert AZ (a suburb of Phoenix).  A referral to someone who can help would be great....I also think he needs to be seen by a professional!  He's hanging in there though!
Thank you!!!

ANSWER: Stephanie,

I really wish that I had more to offer, especially in this case. Different areas have different programs to help subsidize or otherwise assist with the cost of veterinary care. As of yet I haven't found anything at all in Arizona, but I'll let you know if I happen to find anything at a later date. Unfortunately unless you happen to be aware of other resources in your area the only thing that I have to offer you is a finance company, Care Credit finances veterinary care, you can check them out at carecredit.com. You may also wish to check with local animal shelters and rescue organizations to see if they've got information that I don't in terms of resources to help with the financial cost of this baby's care. In the meantime I wish you luck, take good care of this baby, if he survives he'll be a little miracle. For now your kitten is in our thoughts and prayers - I'd certainly like to hear how things turn out.

QUESTION: Thanks for trying!  I did some research yesterday and found an organization called Maddies Place here in the Phoenix area.  They had some places listed that might be able to help.  I've sent e-mails, and will call them today.  So far little 'Lex' is doing well, he's gaining weight, and his breathing is strong and steady.  Momma kitty licks the wound constantly which is why its staying open I think.  Hopefully I'll be able to get him in today!  Thanks again!!!!

Answer
Stephanie,

Thanks for passing along the information about Maddies Place - I'll add it to my list of resources so that I have it on hand for the next pet parent from Phoenix in need of assistance with medical costs. I'm so glad that you've found an organization prepared to help this little guy and he's still in my thoughts and prayers. Please feel free to drop me a line to let me know Lex's situation progresses. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me again - I'll be happy to help you out to the best of my ability.
