Grooming a Manx Cat

Good morning Marie - I have a 7 year old manx cat and I'm ashamed to say I've never groomed him.  I need to groom him now and he is aggressive. He has all claws and I want to groom him at home because I know it would be better for him and less of a liability for me. How can I safely sedate my kitty? I've heard benedryl, but I don't know how much is safe; I've never had to give him any medicine either and I'm not real sure how to best approach this matter. - Thank you for your help!

Hi Rachel - benadryl may not be enough sedation for your cat kid... Sorry, I think you need to call a vet and get a Rx for ( cat Ativan) and then have the vet do the grooming... The vets do this often in the office.  I don't think you will be able to do this at home.
Most vets will not give you the Cat Anxiety medication for home usage in grooming.

YOU can ask, but I think they will turn you down on home treatment.
