Brackish tanks?

Question
Hi, I currently have a 15 gallon high freshwater aquarium at home that I have had for a long time. The tank is pretty healthy, with some algae problems, although minor. I love having fish and love the tetras, danios, bettas, and other fish I have had over the years. My dad also has a 150 gallon freshwater tank and I have always loved the fish he has too and I have helped him to care for his tank a lot.

However, I am hoping to expand my options with aquariums and possibly do something new. I was wondering about the difficulties in maintaining a brackish water tank and what I have to do differently from a freshwater aquarium? Is it possible to set up a small brackish tank, about 5.5 gallons, or must it be larger? I have an interest in breeding mollies, I have had them before and know they are easy keepers, but I also know they significantly prefer somewhat brackish water which I cannot provide in my other tank, what with all the other fish. Please let me know about any differences! And also, I am currently a college student and I already transport my pet turtle to and from home (about 3.5 hours) for longer breaks, would it be possible to transport a small brackish aquarium or would the fish be too sensitive and the water would have to cycle or something along those lines? Thank you!
