pond diseases

helo tom
could you please tell me if you have any tips on keeping my pond and fish healthy from white spot and fungi;
i have had my pond about two years and each year i have had problems with the fish getting white spot or fungi
when they have had this i have aded a prepared approparate treatment but they still end up dyeing
so what i really need to know is what can i do to stop this happening in the first place ; as most of my friends do not get this problem with there ponds ; would salt or anything else stop this

Hi Linda,
Thanx for your question.  I would remove all  of the fish because I think they are passing the disease amongst each other.  Continue to treat the pond with the treaments and then start over next year with new fish.  Salt is not the answer.  Hope this helps.
