Black Moor Goldfish

Question
I purchased a black moor.  I have only had him for 24 hours and I noticed that he sits on the bottom like he's sleeping.  At first I thought he was ill, but he gets up and swims for a good while and then rests again.  I checked the water and everything seems ok.  Do they rest that much?

Answer
Hi Janice,

Not that they rest that much, Black moors have a very poor eyesight, and because of that, they'll better see the food that is at the bottom of the aquarium.
Your fish is probably trying to feel at home in its new home and is trying to find its food source.
When you feed it, give it food that will sink.

Good luck!
