Question
I just read where someone was putting goldfish in the house for the winter. I live in So Central KY, so was going to leave them in but came home from MI and found all 11 dead and the pump clogged up from it. so will goldfish not live during the winter if I tried it again

Answer
The fish just died recently or was this last year?  How cold was it when the fish died?  The goldfish shouldn't die unless they actually freeze, or there is not a hole in the ice for gas exchange.  How big is your pond and how deep?  If it's over two feet deep, that should be enough for KY but MI may need three feet deep.  I'm not clear on which location had the fish deaths.  My page on overwintering ponds is at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/winter.htm
Good luck!
