tadpoles

Question
We have had hundreds of tadpoles hatch in our pond.  Is there anything we can do to cut down on the number of them or get rid of them all together?

Answer
I suggest setting up another small pond from a kiddie pool, tub pond, Rubbermaid storage tub, etc.  You can move a lot of them to other ponds.  Do you know what species they are?  If they are toads, they will leave in just a few months.  The same is true for tree frogs.  Green frog tadpoles take a year, and bullfrogs take two years.  As for deterring frogs, I have a section on that at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/frogs/frogdeter.htm

Good luck!
